What is a textile-free sauna?
A textile-free sauna is a traditional sauna experience where guests enjoy the heat without swimwear. This is common practice in Scandinavia, Germany, and other parts of Europe. It's about wellness and equality, not exhibitionism.
Do I have to be naked?
Yes — that's the "textile-free" part. However, you always sit on your towel for hygiene. If you're not comfortable being nude, this might not be the right experience for you. We recommend trying a regular swimwear sauna first to see if you enjoy the heat.
Is it safe?
We prioritise safety. We have a strict Code of Conduct, trained staff, and a zero-tolerance policy for inappropriate behaviour. Our sessions are designed to be welcoming and secure for everyone.
What should I bring?
We provide towels. Bring flip-flops if you prefer, and a water bottle. Lockers are available for your belongings. Leave phones and cameras in your locker — photography is strictly prohibited.
Do I need to shower first?
Yes — showering before entering the sauna is essential for hygiene. Please shower thoroughly with soap.
How hot is the sauna?
Typically 80–90°C with low humidity. This is a traditional Finnish-style sauna, not a steam room. Sessions usually last 10–15 minutes, followed by a cool-down period.
Can I come if I'm shy about my body?
Many first-timers feel this way. Remember: everyone is in the same situation, and nobody is judging. Textile-free saunas are remarkably equalising — age, shape, and size become irrelevant. Most people report feeling liberated, not self-conscious, after their first visit.
Are there mixed sessions?
Yes, we plan to offer mixed sessions as well as women-only and men-only sessions. You can indicate your preference when joining the whitelist.
What if someone makes me uncomfortable?
Speak to staff immediately. We take all concerns seriously. You can also email us after your visit at hello@nakedsauna.ie.
Can I bring a friend?
Absolutely! Many people find it easier to try their first textile-free sauna with a friend. Just make sure they also join the whitelist and understand the Code of Conduct.
When will you open?
We're finalising a venue in the Dublin area. Join the whitelist to be the first to know when we open and to get early access to booking.
How much will it cost?
Pricing will be announced closer to opening. Whitelist members may receive early-bird discounts.
